Dr. Bednar is a graduate of Emory University in Atlanta and the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society while in medical school. After completing internships in surgery and medicine, Dr. Bednar completed his internal medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. His fellowship training in medical oncology and hematology were also completed at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where Dr. Bednar was Chief Fellow.

An active participant in cancer research, Dr. Bednar serves as the director of clinical trials at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center and as an advisor for the Fox Chase Cancer Center’s extramural research program. Dr. Bednar and the Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center are involved in research trials through the National Cooperative Groups Program.

Dr. Bednar has been published in several respected scientific journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, the Proceedings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the Journal of Cancer. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

Dr. Bednar has been selected as a top doctor by several groups and publications, including NJ Choice Top Doctor by NJ Monthly Magazine, Top NJ Doc by Healthy Living, and Good Housekeeping.
